The Goldenrod Gala
Our 2018 Fall Fundraiser, the Goldenrod Gala, was a festive and fun Night Out for Nature. The Goldenrod Gala is a fun, upbeat evening not to be missed, with all proceeds going to support the initiatives of the Friends of South Cumberland State Park, a volunteer-driven, nonprofit organization, working to protect, maintain and enhance Tennessee's largest and most spectacular state park! The Gala raises much-needed funds to support land acquisition, park maintenance and environmental education.
In 2018, the Gala was held in The Caverns performance venue, home to the PBS television series, Bluegrass Underground! The evening began with a spectacular cocktail reception featuring small-batch spirits from Prichard's Distillery , craft-brewed beers from the Chattanooga Brewing Company and an excellent selection of wines from the Monteagle Inn. There was a silent version of our very popular Adventure Auction, followed with an artisan-crafted buffet dinner from Ivy Wild Catering. After dinner, the Gala-goers enjoyed "fab-ulous" live entertainment and dancing to the Grammy-nominated WannaBeatles!
As part of their after-dinner musical performance, the WannaBeatles offered up a special Gala version of "With a Little Help from My Friends":
The Goldenrod Gala provided caring individuals and sponsors with an exceptional event, creating a unique opportunity to bequeath a beautiful and timeless gift – the gift of Nature – to friends, families, communities, and to future generations.
