Celebrating the Park in Pictures
Photographers recognized for donating their amazing photos of the Park to the Friends...
Dozens of photographers have been recognized for their outstanding work in capturing beautiful and compelling images of South Cumberland and Savage Gulf State Parks. The Friends of South Cumberland State Parks' “Picture the Park” photo competition asked photographers to donate their best work in a number of categories, ranging from “Critters…” to “Volunteers…” and everything in between.
“We’re delighted with the dozens of breathtaking photographs these photographers have donated to the Friends for our use in helping park visitors better understand the amazing array of natural wonders that can be found in South Cumberland and Savage Gulf State Parks,” said Friends Communications Chair Susan Campbell. “As we like to say, South Cumberland is Tennessee’s most spectacular state park, and these photographs will help us make that point in a most beautiful way.”
“We have plans in the pipeline to display all of these amazing photos over the coming years, both in our online media and in tangible items we hope will inspire and be popular with park visitors and Friends supporters,” Campbell said.
Proceeds from the sale of those items help provide funding for a number of Friends’ initiatives on behalf of the park, including educational, interpretive, trail construction and maintenance projects.
