Trail Counter Program
The Friends of South Cumberland and the park rangers of the South Cumberland State Park have partnered on a program to count the number and type of visitors utilizing each of the 12 trailheads in the South Cumberland and Savage Gulf State Parks. Through a generous grant from the Access Fund, and with additional funds provided by the Friends of South Cumberland, TRAFx infrared trail counters were purchased and installed at each of the park's 12 trailheads. Trail counters are important tools for documenting park usage, and critical for future budgeting and funding of park operations. The trail counters are maintained by our Park Rangers; please do not disturb them!
