Visitor Center Renovations

Picture
In 2016 and 2017, the Friends undertook a major renovation of the South Cumberland State Park Visitor Center, which had been largely unchanged since the Center's opening in 1983. With the assistance of a generous grant from the South Cumberland Community Fund, renovations included a completely overhauled exhibit area, focused more toward children and young adults, as well as new paint and flooring, new displays and lighting, video screens, and an interactive video microscope workstation.  Below are some pictures of the finished product; at the bottom is a time-lapse video showing some of the new exhibit materials being installed.  Fun!  Come see the Visitor Center for yourself, and bring the family!
